Circuit of Kinder Scout  Challenge

Circuit of Kinder Scout Challenge

Circuit of Kinder Scout Challenge, Peak District

Saturday 24 April 2021.  With Rachel Bolton or Richard Tower.

A guided mountain challenge walk as part of a small group, right around the top edge of the mountain called Kinder Scout in the Dark Peak area of the Peak District.

This is a gem of a walk!  It includes waterfalls, edges and moorland.  We ascend from Edale via Grindsbrook Clough and follow the perimeter of the Kinder Plateau in a clockwise direction.  On a clear day, the views are stunning.  The Peak District at it’s best!

The distance is approximately 17 miles/27km and 2325ft/709m of elevation.  The terrain will be rough and stony in places and could be boggy in other places.  There will be steep ascents and descents.  As this is a challenge walk in mountainous terrain, a good level of fitness is required and previous hill walking experience.

The cost to join this walk is £40 per person.  Please book and pay below.  You are booking with Rachel Bolton, and the walk on the day will be guided either by Rachel or by Richard Tower.

Meeting Place and Time

We meet at the Edale main car park next to the village hall and public toilets, post code S33 7ZA.  This post code covers a wide area, and so a sat nav might not take you to exactly the right place.  Please also be aware that mobile phone signals in the Vale of Edale are very poor, therefore it's recommended that you check maps and that you know the exact location of the car park before you start your journey.  The cost of car parking is £6 and the ticket machine only takes coins.

We meet at 8:15am to be ready to set off at 8:30am.
