High Tors and Edges Challenge Walk

Walkers on Derwent Edge in the Peak District

2. High Tors and Edges Challenge Walk.

Saturday 1st July 2023.

A guided challenge walk as part of a small group with stunning views from gritstone escarpments and tors in the Peak District.

This high level walk takes in famous escarpments which may include Bamford or Stanage Edge and  Derwent Edge, with far ranging views towards Mam Tor, Kinder Scout and Bleaklow.  Woods, valleys and reservoirs lie far below.  A high-level route makes this walk a gem!

The walk commences at either Nether End in Baslow or at Ladybower Reservoir. (This is a linear walk so we will be organising car shares to return to our starting point).

Participants must be fit and able to complete a full day out in the hills with only short breaks.

The walk should take approximately 10 hours and is 23 miles/38 km in length, with approximately 3300ft/1000m of ascent.  Length and ascent may vary slightly dependent upon best route for the group, and the weather on the day.

The cost to join this walk is £40 per person.  Please book and pay below.
