Sunday 17 March 2019 and Sunday 25 August 2019
A full day guided walk a part of a small group of no more than six people plus your guide to explore the beautiful range of green, grassy hills known as The Howgills and the pretty countryside surrounding them. This is in the part of Cumbria that has recently become part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
From the village of Ravonstonedale, we walk up into the hills to the high points of Green Bell (605m) and Randygill Top (615m). If it is a clear day, we'll enjoy wonderful panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. We then descend along a broad, grassy ridge that is known as Hooksey. The last few miles of the walk are lower level on country lanes and tracks, plus footpaths over fields including a crossing of Smardale Bridge which is on the Coast to Coast footpath route.
This is a hilly walk of about 11 miles/18km with approx. 665 metres of ascent over grassy terrain, some of which is pathless. It can be quite hard going, and a bit boggy in places.
The price is £35 per person for this walk. Please book and pay below.
