A guided walk as part of a small group of usually no more than six people plus your guide, to explore some of the hills to the north of the village of Hayfield.
We will set off initially along the Sett Valley Trail. Highlights of the walk will include Lantern Pike, Matley Moor, the Harry Hut trig point, and the remote heather covered moorland of Chunal Moor. On Mill Hill we will see the wreckage from a 1940s aircrash. We will return to Hayfield down William Clough and past the beautiful Kinder Reservoir.
Throughout the walk, your friendly, professional guide will share with you a wealth of local knowledge.
This walk is about 10.5 miles /16.5km with approx 890 metres of ascent. Part of the walk is over rough moorland terrain.
We meet at 9:15am to be ready for a 9:30am start in the main public car park on the side of the A624 in the village of Hayfield. It is next to the Hayfield Countryside Centre. Post Code SK22 2ES. Follow signs for The Sett Valley Trail off the A624.
The car park is a 'Pay & Display and costs £4.50 per day. The ticket machine only takes coins.
The following information sheet provides advice regarding what to wear and what to bring with you.
For greater flexibility, why not do this as a private guided walk on a day of your choice, either on your own or with a group of friends or family?
