Sunday 18 March 2018
A full day guided walk as part of a small group of usually no more than six people plus your guide to explore some of the stunning tors, moors and gritstone edges to the east of the village of Hathersage. Throughout the day, your friendly, professional guide will share with you a wealth of knowledge.
Highlights of the walk will include Carhead Rocks, the southern end of Stanage Edge, Higger Tor, Carl Wark, Burbage Edge, Millstone Edge, and Over Owler Tor. This is a great time of year to see the heather in flower on the moors, do don't forget your camera!
We will probably stop for a coffee during the day at the National Trust tea room on the Longshaw Estate.
The walk is about 11 miles/18km with approx 700 metres of ascent spread out throughout the day. The ground is rough and stony in places and could be wet and boggy in other places.
The cost is £38 per person. Please book and pay below.
We meet at 9:15am to be ready to a 9:30am start at the entrance to the main public car park on Oddfellows Road, Hathersage. It's opposite Hathersage Swimming Pool. Post code S32 1DU. The car park is a Pay & Display and costs £5.50 per day. The ticket machine only takes coins. Free roadside car parking can sometimes be found nearby.
Accessible by public transport
