Saturday 14th - Saturday 21st April 2018
Enjoy a week on the beautiful Isles of Scilly, based in Hugh Town on the island of St Mary's, and visiting up to four other islands. We are offering four guided walks during the week where you will be part of a small group. The remainder of the week is free time for you to experience other activities or to simply relax.
The planned programme for our Isles of Scilly Walking Holiday is as follows:
Saturday Travel to the Isles of Scilly and check into accommodation. Option of a guided short evening stroll around Hugh Town and local beaches.
Sunday A guided walk around the entire coastline of the island of St Mary's. Pretty coastal scenery, with wonderful views across the sea to other islands if it's clear.
Monday Take a ferry to the island of St Martins, famous for its idyllic beaches, and spend the day exploring on foot with your guide.
Tuesday Free day
Wednesday Take a ferry to visit the two islands of Bryher and Samson for short guided walks around each. Bryher is described as a rugged yet deeply beautiful island of vibrant contrasts.
Thursday Free day
Friday Take the ferry to the island of Tresco and enjoy a guided walk around the coastline, also visiting the famous sub-tropical Abbey Gardens, and maybe indulge in a cream tea.
Saturday Travel home
All of the guided walks are fairly easy, with distances between 6 and 10 miles (10 and 14km) each day with just a small amount of ascent and descent. Some of the paths are rocky in places and could be slippery in other places. Trekking shoes or hiking boots are recommended.
Visits to the other islands are subject to sea conditions being fit for ferries to operate.
As part of the package we are offering a room in a self catering house in a wonderful location just off the beach in Hugh Town, St Marys. It's walking distance from the ferry terminal and from the shops, pubs and restaurants in the town.
If you prefer to stay in a hotel, then you are welcome to book your own accommodation in Hugh Town.
The cost of this holiday is £510 per person, based on single occupancy of a double or twin room in the self catering house (supplement of £40 for an en-suite room, or discount of £80 for a single room).
