This walk is a must for any nature lover and will be great fun for anyone who enjoys getting a little muddy!
We will ascend the Kinder Plateau via Crowden Brook. The fun starts when we reach the top of the plateau where we will head off into this amazing lunar type landscape to explore the bog lands secrets. We will follow streams carving out a maze like route through the bog to eventually arrive at Kinder Downfall, an iconic waterfall and view point looking north across the moors towards Manchester and the Pennines. Our route then follows the edge of the plateau to descend via Jacobs Ladder packhorse route and the Pennine way, to return to Edale and well earned tea and cake!
Please note this walk is long and over rough boggy terrain. The distance is about 15 km/9.5miles with a height gain of 431 m/1,414ft.
Peak Walking Adventures reserve the right to change the walk if weather conditions etc do not allow us to access the hills.
Please book below and choose the 'invoice' option as we are not making a charge for this walk. We will invite you to make a donation to one of our chosen local charities.
You are booking with Rachel Bolton who will guide the walk on the day.
We meet at Edale railway station at 9.20am to leave promptly for 9.35am and the walk will take approximately 6 hours.
If you would like to stay locally the night before or after this walk, the villages of Edale, Hope, or Castleton are nearby and have a selection of B&Bs, inns, and self catering accommodation.
