A guided walk in the White Peak area as part of a small group of no more than five people plus your friendly, professional walk leader. Throughout the walk your guide will 'bring the countryside to life' by sharing with you a wealth of local knowledge.
This walk starts in the pretty village of Over Haddon and takes us through beautiful Lathkill Dale where we will explore historic lead mining sites, early spring wild flowers, plants and bird life along the river bank. The dale is full of contrasts including rocky quarries and woodland. After a refreshment stop in the village of Monyash, the second part of our walk traverses the upper part of the dale via One Ash Grange and the Limestone way before returning to the valley bottom and Over Haddon.
The walk is about 10miles/16km and with approx 977ft/300m elevation.
The cost is £38 per person. Please book and pay below. The walk on the day will be guided by either Rachel Bolton or Richard Tower.
We meet at 9:15am to be ready for a 9:30am start in the main public car park in the village of Over Haddon. It is next to the public toilets. The nearest Post Code is DE45 1JE, but that covers a wide area, so a sat nav is unlikely to take you to the exact location. The car park is a pay & display and cots £6 per day. The ticket machine currently only takes coins.
If you would like to stay locally the night before or after this walk, the village of Over Haddon or the town of Bakewell are nearby.
For greater flexibility, why not do this as a private guided walk on a day of your choice, either on your own or with a group of friends or family?.
