A guided walk as part of a small group of usually no more than six people plus your guide. This walk is always popular as it showcases some of the best Peak District Edges. Throughout the day, your friendly, professional guide will share with you a wealth of local knowledge.
We steadily climb out of the village of Baslow to gain Baslow Edge with spectacular surrounding views including Chatsworth and the Dark Peak moors. We enjoy a more peaceful setting as we walk along White Edge before turning via Longshaw country park and the Grouse Inn to wander back along Froggatt Edge and explore the gritstone towers and rock formations that make it one of the country’s best rock climbing venues.
This walk is about 10 miles/16.2km with about 600 metres of ascent, on paths that can be rough and stony in places.
The cost is £38 per person. Please book and pay below. You are booking with Rachel Bolton who will guide the walk on the day.
We meet at the entrance to the Nether End car park, Church Lane, Baslow. Post code is DE45 1SR. The car park is a 'pay & display' and costs £6.20 per day. You might be able to find free roadside car parking on nearby Eaton Hill. There are public toilets at the car park.
The meeting time is 9:15am to be ready to set off at 9:30am.
If you would like to stay locally the night before or after this walk, the villages of Baslow, Rowsley or Calver and the town of Bakewell are nearby.
