Winter Warmer - Four Edges

Baslow Edge, White Edge and Froggatt Edge walk

1. Winter Warmer - Four Edges.

Saturday 21 January 2023.

A guided walk as part of a small group, this classic walk includes Baslow, White, Curbar and Froggatt Edges. It's a winter favourite with far reaching views - not to be missed!

From the village of Baslow we ascend via minor roads tracks to Baslow Edge and follow a moorland path to view Wellingtons Monument and the impressive rock feature , Eagle Stone. The moorland views of the surrounding area are quite stunning here.  After crossing the road at Curbar Gap we ascend to White Edge which is a nature reserve.  Access to the Edge is via a well constructed path which allows us to make good progress along its flank.  After descending to the Grouse Inn we complete our walk with an ascent of Froggatt and Curbar Edges.  These majestic edges provide us with stunning views, amazing rock architecture and (weather permitting) the chance to see climbers clinging to the rock face!  The walk is an excellent introduction to this area and perfect for a winters day.

The distance is about 9 miles/14.5 km with approximately 400 metres  / 1312 feet of ascent.

The cost is £38 per person.  Please book and pay below.
