Gritstone Edges & Monuments

Nelsons Monument. Birchen Edge

Gritstone Edges & Monuments, Peak District, with Rachel Bolton

Saturday 29 August - Fully booked

A full day guided walk as part of a small group of no more than four people plus your guide to explore some of the southern gritstone edges of the Peak District and Chatsworth.

We ascend out of the village of Baslow on to Baslow Edge and our first monument, Wellingtons Monument.  The views from here include much of our walk across to Nelsons Monument and Birchen Edge, and then over towards Chatsworth Edge, house and gardens.

With luck, the heather might still be out, and we should also encounter some interesting Neolithic stones!

This walk is about 8.5 miles/14km with approx 400 metres of ascent.

The cost is £38 per person.  Please book and pay below.  You are booking with Rachel Bolton, who will guide the walk on the day.
