A guided walk in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, as part of a small group to climb Murton Pike and to walk the horseshoe around the famous High Cup Gill, passing the stunning viewpoint of High Cup Nick.
You will be in a small group of no more than five people plus your friendly, professional guide.
Starting from the small village of Murton we take paths up the hillside to reach the summit of Murton Pike (594 metres above sea level). We then follow a track that eventually leads us to the rim of the High Cup Gill valley and from there it's a horseshoe walk around the top edge of the cliffs surrounding this stunning valley, including the famous viewpoint of High Cup Nick. Our return route to Murton is on low level paths and lanes.
The distance is about 10 miles/16 kilometres with approx 610 metres of ascent.
The cost is £38 per person. Please book and pay below. You are booking with Cath Lee who will guide the walk on the day.

We meet at 9:15am to be ready to set off at 9:30am in the small Murton Fell Car park. The post code is CA16 6ND, however being a rural area, this covers a wide area, so a sat nav might not take you to exactly the right place. It's at the end of a little lane, heading north east, from the centre of the small village of Murton.
If you would like to stay locally the night before or after this walk, the small town of Appleby-in-Westmorland, or the villages of Dufton or Murton are ideal. If you are planning on arriving by public transport, please contact me to investigate the options.
