Lathkill Dale

Lathkill Dale guided walk, Peak District

1. Lathkill Dale

Saturday 1 April 2023.

A guided walk as part of a small group in Lathkill Dale in the White Peak.  The dale will hopefully be turning spring like and the colours this time of year are often very striking and colourful. We will also hope to see Dippers and other birds in amongst the rocks and river.

Why not also book our Monsal Dale Open Walk on Sunday 2 April to make it a wonderful weekend of walking?

This walk starts in the pretty village of Over Haddon and takes us through beautiful Lathkill Dale where we will explore historic lead mining sites, wildflowers, plants and bird life along the riverbank.  After a refreshment stop in the village of Monyash, the second part of our walk traverses the upper part of the dale before returning to the valley bottom and Over Haddon.

The walk is about 10miles/16km and with approximately 977ft/300m of ascent.

The cost is £38 per person.  Please book and pay below.

Meeting place and time

We meet at 9:15am to be ready for a 9:30am start in the main public car park in the village of Over Haddon.  It is next to the public toilets.  The nearest Postcode is DE45 1JE, but that covers a wide area, so a sat nav is unlikely to take you to the exact location.  The car park is a pay & display and costs £6 per day.  The ticket machine currently only takes coins.

Accommodation

If you would like to stay locally the night before or after this walk, the village of Over Haddon or the town of Bakewell are nearby. Visit our Accommodation Page
