2. St Sunday Crag and Fairfield, Lake District with Cath Lee

Sunday 9 August 2020 - New bookings suspended until we know whether this will be able to go ahead or not.

A challenging guided walk as part of a small group over the mountains of St Sunday Crag and Fairfield in the Lake District.

Our route from Glenridding takes us through countryside and hills, gaining height until we reach the summit of St Sunday Crag.  If it's a clear day, we'll have magnificent views to the southern end of Ullswater and the surrounding mountains.  After a short descent, we ascend again up a steep path involving some easy scrambling, and over scree to Cofa Pike, and then onward to the summit of Fairfield at 873 metres above sea level.  Our descent route takes us steeply down a path with some scree to the beautiful Grisedale Tarn, and then down into Grisedale itself - a valley surrounded by magnificent mountains.

Should weather conditions be unsuitable to be up in the mountains, an alternative guided walk will be offered in the local area.

This walk is about 10.5 miles /17km with approx 1,500 metres of ascent/descent over terrain that is rough, craggy, and very steep in places.  It may be boggy in other places.  Suitable for people with a good level of fitness, previous mountain experience, and confidence on steep ground that could be slippery underfoot.

The cost to join this guided walk up is £38 per person.  Please book and pay below.  You are booking with Cath Lee who will guide the walk on the day.
