The Fairfield Horseshoe

View of The Fairfield Horseshoe

The Fairfield Horseshoe, Lake District

A Lake District classic!  Join a small group of no more than six other people, plus your guide on this challenging mountain journey.

Starting in the popular town of Ambleside the route takes us onto the mountain of Fairfield (873m) and back via the two ridges either side of the Rydal Beck.  It includes several other summits, including Heron Pike, Great Rigg, Dove Cragg, and High Pike.  On the clear day, the views are amazing throughout the walk, with countless other mountains in the distance and elevated views of Lake Windermere and Rydal Water.

The distance is about 11 miles (18km, with approx 870 metres of ascent/descent).  This is mountainous terrain, so expect paths to be rough and stony in places with steep sections.  In other places it could be wet and boggy.

The cost to join this guided walk up is £38 per person.  You are booking with Cath Lee who will guide the walk.  Please book and pay below.
