Wild Boar Fell and Swarth Fell, Yorkshire Dales National Park, with Cath Lee

A full day walk a part of a small group of usually no more than six people plus your guide to reach the summits of Swarth Fell (681m), Wild Boar Fell (708m) and Little Fell (559m).  These are in the part of Cumbria that has recently become part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.


We meet at Kirkby Stephen railway station and take the train to the little village of Garsdale, then walk back over beautiful and wild open moorland leading on the the three hills.  If it's a clear day we will be able to enjoy magnificent views at the begining of the walk back toward Pen-y-Ghent, then as we get onto Swarth Fell and Wild Boar Fell, down the Eden Valley and across to Mallerstang Edge.  

This is a hilly walk of about 13 miles/21km with approx 660 metres of ascent over terrain that can be rough in places.

Meeting Place and Time


 We meet at 8:35am at Kirkby Stephen railway station (Post Code CA17 4LE) to be ready to catch the 8:47am train to Garsdale.  Please note that the railway station is a couple of miles away from the village of Kirkby Stephen.
