Saturday 16th September 2023.
A guided challenge walk as part of a small group. This classic challenge involves a circuit of three Cheshire peaks - Tegg's nose (370m) Shining Tor (559m) and Shutlingsloe (506m) taking in Macclesfield Forest, Lamaload Reservoir and the Cat and Fiddle distillery. This beautiful walk includes traversing stretches of high moorland and rock outcrops with stunning views over the Cheshire plains. This contrasts with sections of low-level walking through woodland and by the side of reservoirs.
The walk should take approximately 7 hours and is 16 miles/ 26 km in length, with over 938 metres /3077 feet of ascent.
The terrain will be rough and stony in places and could be boggy in other places. There will be steep ascents and descents. As this is a challenge walk in hilly terrain, a good level of fitness is required and previous hill walking experience.
The cost to join this walk is £40 per person. Please book and pay below.
We will meet at the Tegg's Nose Country Park, main car park (postcode: SK11OAP) for a 9.00am start. More parking and meeting details will be provided when you book.
If you need accommodation locally, the towns of Buxton and Macclesfield are close by.
