Trek Training Walks

Great training for Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp or the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge!

Trek Training in the Peak District.

Our trek training walks in the Peak District and Lake District are specially designed for those preparing for non-technical, overseas guided treks, in summer conditions, up mountains such as Kilimanjaro, Jebel Toubkal, the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, and Everest Base Camp.

They are also useful for those training for guided mountain challenges in the UK such as the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

Most tour operators organising mountain walking holidays or charity challenge treks, recommend hill walking as being one of the most effective methods of preparing your body to sustain several consecutive days of uphill climbs.

Of course you don't have to be training for anything to enjoy one of these walks.  If you simply enjoy a challenging hill walk, then they could be perfect for you!

Trek Training in the Lake District

We have two options for Trek Training walks:

  • Join open group walks on the set dates listed below
  • Arrange private guided training days on mutually convenient dates.

We can suggest suitable local accommodation if required.

If you will be travelling by public transport, please contact us for advice.

Open Group Trek Training Walks

The cost to join our open group trek training walks is £38 per person, per day.  You will be in a small walking group of usually no more than six participants, plus your friendly, professional guide

Our trek training routes do vary in the degree of difficulty.  As a general rule, the more ascent, the more challenging the walk will be.  If you are in doubt as to the best walk to book for the particular trek you are training for, please contact us for advice.  If you are completely new to hill walking, or have any doubts about your fitness level, you might like to choose one of our ordinary 'open group' walks first.  All routes are subject to change depending upon weather and ground conditions.  Dates are below.

Private Guided Trek Training Walks

Private guided trek training walk

We can offer Trek Training walks in the Peak District or Lake District on a wider range of dates throughout the year for small groups, couples or individuals booking on a private guided basis.

This allows greater flexibility, as we can tailor the day to your individual requirements.  For available private guiding dates, please see our guided walking calendar.

Prices from £170 per day, the cost of which can be shared between members of your group, so for five or more people it can work out cheaper than joining one of our open group walks.
