The Route

Our trek training route leaves the main National Trust Car Park in Dovedale. Almost straight away we ascend steeply to the summit of Thorpe cloud a wonderful viewpoint to view the surrounding hills. Our descent then takes us to see one of the most popular spots in Dovedale the Stepping Stones, this is a fine place to pause for a moment by the river Dove before ascending again over the hills on the eastern side of the dale. After a descent to view the famous Dove holes carved out of limestone rock, our walk ascends Baley hill and then down to the picturesque hamlet of Milldale and ideal place for lunch. The second part of the walk ascends and descends the west side of the dale and a final climb on to Bunster hill, a fine viewpoint to end the walk with.
