Saturday 24 June 2023.
A guided trek training walk as part of a small group from Edale, climbing onto Kinder Scout Plateau, not once but twice!, via Crowden Brook and the summit of Grindsbrook Clough. This is one of our most popular Trek Training walks and justifiably so as the views are spectacular!

Starting from the main Edale car park and toilets, the route follows the iconic Pennine Way national trail out of the valley. Our first ascent follows the peaceful Crowden Clough climbing up to the edge of the Kinder Scout Plateau. We then follow the Plateau's edge and descend via Grindslow Knoll back to Edale. The views are particularly stunning here, looking over towards the Great Ridge above Castleton and the Derwent Moors. Our second climb of the day leads us back onto the plateau via Grindsbrook Clough which involves an easy scramble around the rocks and stream bed. We then continue to follow the edge path and finally descend to Edale via the rocks of Ringing Roger.
The route described may vary according to participants level of ability, progress and weather conditions. Please be aware that the terrain maybe steep, hilly, rocky and boggy in places. Participants must be fit and able to complete a full day out on the hills and be comfortable walking all day with small breaks.
The cost to join this walk is £38 per person. Please book and pay below.
We meet at the main car park in Edale by the village hall and toilets at 9.15am to leave promptly for 9.30am. Details will be sent to you when you book.
