The Route

Starting from the main Edale car park and toilets, the route follows the iconic Pennine Way national trail out of the valley. Our first ascent follows the peaceful Crowden Clough climbing up to the edge of the Kinder Scout Plateau. We then follow the Plateau's edge and descend via Grindslow Knoll back to Edale. The views are particularly stunning here, looking over towards the Great Ridge above Castleton and the Derwent Moors.  Our second climb of the day leads us back onto the plateau via Grindsbrook Clough which involves an easy scramble around the rocks and stream bed.  We then continue to follow the edge path and finally descend to Edale via the rocks of Ringing Roger.
